About the event

In 1996, Californians passed Proposition 209, banning the discrimination and preferential treatment of a person’s race, sex, ethnicity, or national origin. This year’s election proposes a new ballot initiative, Proposition 16, that would repeal Prop 209 if passed. What does this mean for our community? Is Affirmative Action a step in the right direction? Or will it polarize our community further? The OC Forum is proud to present this timely program on the Future of: Affirmative Action. Join our expert panel as they discuss the pros and cons of Proposition 16 in this special election program on equity and race relations.

Guest Speakers:

Carolyn Cavecche - CEO & President, Orange County Taxpayers Association (Moderator)

Vincent Pan - Co-Executive Director, Chinese for Affirmative Action

Dr. Richard Sander - Distinguished Professor of Law, UCLA
