Strengthen Business and Economy through

Effective Investments in Children

Research is clear when it comes to the long-term implications of low literacy on the social and economic vitality of our society. In fact, children who do not read proficiently by the end of the third grade are four times more likely to drop out of school, and dropouts are seven times more likely to live in poverty than a person with a high school diploma. This data is startling, and impacts each and every one of us. In partnership with Children and Families Commission and the Association of California Cities-Orange County, the Forum is pleased to present Ken Thrasher who will share his views on the work of ReadyNation to strengthen business and the economy through effective investments in children and youth. © 2016
