Event Recap: Ending Homelessness

Dear Members & Guests:

It has been a fantastic year for the OC Forum. On Wednesday, November 15, we ended our 2017 programs calendar with a completely sold-out event presented by our partners at the Orange County United Way. The event, "Ending Homelessness: Proven Strategies from Other Communities," was timely and generated more dialog than time allowed. Our capacity crowd provided a wealth of thoughtful questions that we have shared with our program partners to facilitate deeper conversations. We are all partners in solving homelessness in our communities.

For those who would like additional information, or could not join yesterday's event, we have put together a number of resources for you to explore below. You may also read up on the OC Register's event coverage.

"Before the numbers went down in Central Florida, the two Orange County regions had roughly the same homeless population."

VIDEO SEGMENTS

A post-event video with our guest speakers, Andrae Bailey, Keith Morrison, and Sue Parks, can be seen by clicking here .

Andrae Bailey shared a video with our audience based on his experiences in Orlando, Fl. This compelling look at homelessness entitled, Cardboard Stories , is a must see. Click here to view that video.

Please feel free to share both segments on with your friends and business colleagues.

PRESENTATIONS

Our speakers have also provided us with their presentations on homelessness. If you would like to view those, please use the following links:

QUESTIONS

There were a variety of great questions that we were not able to answer during the program. In response, our friends at Orange County United Way will be filming a segment with Andrae and team to address those additional questions and we will distribute that segment in the near future.

If you would like to learn more about partnering with the Orange County United Way, please do not hesitate to contact Becks Heyhoe for more information at Becksh@unitedwayoc.org or call (949)263-6112.

Thank you for a wonderful year and we look forward to new conversations in 2018.

Sincerely, Owen Holmes President - OC Forum
